National Accountability Bureau has submitted its detailed reply in the Supreme Court according to which from 2019 till June 2022, 50 NAB references were returned during PTI rule, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court had sought details from the NAB regarding the accused who had got relief or were acquitted due to amendments in the NAB Ordinance during the previous government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to NAB reply, 9 references against former minister for water and power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf were returned during PTI regime. 

Two references against former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani were sent back when the PTI govt was in power. 

Two references were returned against former finance minister Shaukat Tarin. Tarin was a co-accused in a case relating to misuse of power and authority. 

A NAB reference against former member Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Javed Hussain was sent back. In the same way a reference against Liaquat Ali Jatoi was also sent back during PTI govt’s tenure. 

Likewise, one reference each against former KP governor Mehtab Ahmad Khan, former GB health minister Gul Bahar Khan, Farzana Raja and former president Asif Ali Zardari was sent back during the PTI regime.
