JI chief says report on IPPs will come out in month’s time

Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that JI’s sit-in lasted for 14 days and the government had no other way left but to sign an agreement with the Jamaat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement on Friday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said credit goes to Jamaat-e-Islami that the government is ready to revise the electricity prices.
He said the IPPs report will come out in a month which has conditioned the prices.
“Told the government committee how electricity prices can be reduced and contracts with IPPs can be revised”, Ameer JI said.
He said that they told the government as to how tax can be reduced on the salaried class.
For the first time there was talk of taxing the big landlords, he concluded.
