An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday granted interim bails to PTI leaders Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Farrukh Habib and Hammad Azhar in the case of damaging public property, attempted murder and interference in official duty during the party’s rally yesterday (March 8, 2023) until March 25, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court barred the police from arresting these PTI leaders, and ordered them to deposit surety bond of Rs0.5 million each.

ATC Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar heard the petitions, while the PTI leaders also appeared in the court.

Racecourse Police Station had booked PTI leaders under 12 different sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Court sends PTI leader on 14-day judicial remand:

On the other hand, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore rejected the police’s request for the physical remand of PTI leader Ibad Farooq, who had been arrested in the case of interference in official duty, and sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand instead.

Soon afterwards, the PTI leader filed a bail petition in the court.
