Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kashmir for a two-day visit, which has sparked controversy and criticism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

As Modi embarks on his third term in office, accusations have resurfaced regarding his administration's handling of the Kashmir issue, including allegations of false flag operations to garner support from extremists.

Critics claim that the Modi government, along with sympathetic media outlets, has fabricated stories of terrorism in Kashmir to justify heavy-handed tactics and maintain control over the region.

During the recent Indian elections, Modi's use of anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistani rhetoric failed to secure a majority in the Lok Sabha, leading to increased tensions in Kashmir.

Reports indicate that Modi's administration has not made significant efforts to improve the situation in Kashmir over the past decade. Instead, they have been accused of using false flag operations in districts like Pulwama, Rajouri, and Raisi to serve political interests, resulting in the loss of lives among both Kashmiris and Indian soldiers.

Despite his long tenure, Modi did not field a single candidate in the latest elections in Kashmir, fearing defeat. This decision has drawn severe criticism and ridicule. To deflect attention from his political setbacks, Modi announced a visit to the region, during which he is set to inaugurate several development projects.

However, the situation in Kashmir remains dire. Over half the population lives below the poverty line, unemployment rates are critical, and the peace situation has deteriorated. The mental stress on Indian soldiers stationed there has led to a disturbing rise in suicides. Journalists face constant harassment, and internet services are frequently blocked, further exacerbating the region's plight.

International organizations, including Amnesty International and the United Nations, have repeatedly demanded accountability from the Modi government for human rights violations in Kashmir. Despite this, Modi's visit has brought additional hardships to the local population, with the region being declared a red zone and heavy military presence causing widespread disruption.

In preparation for Modi's visit, the Indian Army has intensified clearance operations, leading to allegations of extrajudicial killings of innocent Kashmiris. The heightened security measures, involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force, reflect Modi's apprehension about the local reaction to his policies and actions.

As Modi continues his visit, the world watches to see how long he can evade the growing discontent and accusations from the Kashmiri people.
