The Punjab government has announced plans to introduce new rules requiring private schools to provide free education to 10% of their students, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Wednesday.

As per the details, the school education department will survey private schools, after which poor and deserving children can also get free education in the private schools of Punjab.

During the survey, the Ministry of Education will record the number of children studying in private schools, which will likely be completed by August 31 after the summer vacation.

The Private Schools Ordinance 2014 will be reinforced through school education.

The private school administration stated that deserving students are already studying in their schools.
