A man in Lahore on Sunday killed two persons, including a woman, besides injuring two others, including his fiancée, for refusing to marry him, before pointing the gun at himself and shooting himself dead, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to the police, Nadeem Masih, a resident of Youhanabad, went to his fiancée’s home at Rasul Park in Samanabad and started firing indiscriminately, resulting in the deaths of his fiancée’s brother Sarfaraz and his wife Razia on the spot, while Sarfaraz’s brother Irfan and his (the suspect) fiancée Nadia were injured.
Later Nadeem shot himself dead as well.
Police informed that the engagement of the suspect and Nadia had taken place a year ago.
However, a year after that, Sarfaraz, Nadia’s brother, refused to marry off his sister to Nadeem due to which the latter started harbouring a grudge against his fiancée’s family.
Police and forensic teams collected evidence from the crime scene and later sent the bodies to hospital for the post-mortem.
Police said they were investigating the case in the light of the statements of the victims’ family.
Everybody in the locality was in tears over the tragic demise of three persons on Easter.
