Seed Clouding: Punjab govt conducts artificial rain in Jehlum and Chakwal districts

Amid deteriorating smog levels across Punjab, the provincial government has confirmed that artificial rain was carried out in Jehlum and Chakwal districts area on Friday by adopting Seed Clouding technique, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Met office has confirmed that amid the presence of sufficient cloud cover artificial rain was made in the area. At 2pm on Friday tchincal teams used Cloud Seeding technique resultantly rain occurred in Jehlum, Chakwal, Talagang and Gojar Khan areas. Experts are of the view that artificial rain is likely to help in reducing smog impact in Lahore.
Pakistan Army's Scientific Research and Development (SPD), Army Aviation, PARCO, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Punjab Government have successfully completed the artificial rain project. Punjab Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated all relevant institutions, scientific experts on the successful experiment of artificial rain. Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said artificial rain was tested last year with the support of the United Arab Emirates but this time the government successfully experimented it using local expertise and technology.
