Punjab Health Department abolishes over 2400 seats of grades 1-4

The Punjab government has abolished over 2400 seats of grade 1 to 4 positions in the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (PSHD) which had been lying vacant for the past year, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
A notification to abolish these seats has also been issued.
A total of 2411 seats in grades 1 to 4 were abolished. There will be no new recruitments for these vacant seats.
These seats include watchmen, security guards, helpers, drivers, cooks, deputy messengers, Masalchis, Dais, Beras, and sweepers.
All routine cleaning systems in the health department will be carried out by the daily wage sanitary workers. All such workers will be hired from open-market contractors on daily wages.
