Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to file a writ petition against Election Commission of Pakistan in Peshawar High Court against non-allocation of reserved seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In a statement, KP government spokesperson Barrister Dr. Saif said that the Election Commission has not issued notification for specific seats despite the Supreme Court's majority decision.

Barrister Dr. Saif said that the schedule for elections to the senate seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has not been released yet.

The approval of the writ petition was given yesterday in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, Barrister Dr. Saif said.

He said that the cabinet has given permission to the Advocate General to file the petition.

Barrister Dr. Saif said that eight Supreme Court judges have decided to give specific seats to PTI.

The Election Commission was earlier using delay tactics and now it is openly violating the orders of the Supreme Court, said Barrister Dr. Saif.

He said Election Commissioner's biased behavior has caused irreparable damage to PTI.

Barrister Dr. Saif said that the Election Commissioner has been guilty of contempt of court and Article 6 by violating the order of the Supreme Court.
