Govt slashes diesel by Rs10.86, petrol by Rs6.17

Amid public anger over inflation and electricity bills, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced decrease in the prices of petroleum products for the next two weeks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The government has reduced the price of diesel by 10 rupees 86 paise per liter and the price of petrol by 6 rupees 17 paise per liter.
The price of kerosene has also been reduced by Rs 6 32 paisa while the price of light speed diesel has also been reduced by Rs 5 72 paisa per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had forwarded the oil price summary to the Ministry of Petroleum, which was approved by the prime minister. After the Prime Minister's approval, the Ministry of Finance issued an official notification of cut in the oil prices.
