Former Punjab chief minister and PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Thursday that after former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s acquittal in the Avenfield reference yesterday, there was no doubt now that he was a ‘blue-eyed boy’ (Ladla), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to reporters after appearing in Special Court Central where he had gone to attend the hearing of a money laundering and dubious bank transactions case, he asked Nawaz and his brother Shehbaz Sharif to get ready to be held accountable for their bad deeds. “How Sharif brothers, who are established fraudsters, can escape the wrath of The Almighty Allah and accountability at the hands of the masses,” he said, adding, “Both brothers are giving an impression that after duping people several times, they will now again be able to deceive them.”

But this time, he further said, people will teach them a lesson in the general elections. “No matter how much effort they make, they will not succeed in their designs,” he added.

It had always been the PML-N’s modus operandi, Pervaiz said, to make people believe in their tall claims and win elections. “But now it was high time these pampered boys showed mercy on people and quit politics,” he said, adding, “I am telling you. Even if you get a ‘clean chit’ in all corruption cases, still you will not be able to evade accountability.”

PTI president went on to say what else Shehbaz Sharif had done during his 16-month stay at the Prime Minister’s House other than paving the way for the return of his brother Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan and getting a level playing field for him as well as for himself. “And what the people of Pakistan got in return except for inflation and unemployment,” he said.

The former chief minister said categorically that not only the PTI would be able to retain its electoral symbol of ‘bat’, but would also win the general elections.

He made it clear that the party would field candidates for each and every seat.

Court adjourns hearing of money laundering case

Earlier, the Special Court Central adjourned the hearing of the money laundering and dubious bank transactions case against Pervaiz until December 14.

Magistrate extends Ch Pervaiz’s judicial remand in two cases

On the other hand, a judicial magistrate Imran Abid extended the judicial remand of PTI president in two cases by another 14 days when he told him that he was sick and could not appear the very next day.

The magistrate ordered the FIA to submit a challan in the case.

Pervaiz will now be produced in the court on December 14.
