The entry of tourists in Kaghan Valley was banned on Sunday following heavy snowfall in Mansehra district, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khalid Iqbal said that the area between Kaghan and Naran had been closed for tourists as all hotels in the area had been closed, while the inclement weather had also resulted in the suspension of cellphone service as well as power supply in the area. “The road connecting Mansehra to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) has been closed due to heavy snowfall,” he said, adding, “Police personnel manning the checkpoints over the mountains have been asked to abandon them.”

The deputy commissioner said that the land connection between Mansehra and GB lay severed since the beginning of November due to hostile weather.

“Naran and other tourist spots in Mansehra will now be opened for visitors in April,” he informed.
