The International Cricket Council (ICC) is considering a "partnership formula" to resolve the ongoing deadlock between the cricket boards of Pakistan and India regarding the ICC Champions Trophy, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to sources, the ICC has advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to accept the proposed formula, which aims to prevent potential legal action from Pakistan.

The formula, if implemented, will come into effect from the Champions Trophy and remain valid for three years. Under the proposed plan, both India and Pakistan will play all their international matches in Dubai during this period.

As part of the arrangement, neither Pakistan will play tournaments in India, nor will India participate in Pakistan-hosted events during this timeframe.

Pakistan has made it a condition that the partnership formula be included as part of the tournament’s host agreement. Sources suggest that the agreement must be formally approved in writing for further progress.

The BCCI has requested additional time to consider the proposal. The ICC remains committed to resolving the issue without requiring a formal voting process.

India's Jay Shah assumes role as ICC Chairman

It is also worth mentioning here that India has assumed the chairmanship of the International Cricket Council (ICC), with Jay Shah taking charge as the new ICC Chairman.

Shah, who previously served as the General Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has now officially begun his tenure at the ICC.
