The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has issued a notification for an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 1.17 per kg, effective from February 1, 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.

According to the notification, the new price of LPG has been fixed at Rs 257.60 per kg, up from Rs 256.43 per kg in January.

This means that the domestic LPG cylinder of 11.8 kg will now cost Rs 3,040, an increase of Rs 13.76 from the previous month.

The commercial LPG cylinder of 45.4 kg will cost Rs 11,697, an increase of Rs 53.08.

The notification said that the price hike was due to the increase in the Saudi Aramco contract price for February, which was set at $690 per tonne, up from $685 per tonne in January.
