Colourful displays of fireworks and special events were held across the country to welcome the new year.
Special prayers were offered at the Data Darbar in connection with the arrival of the New Year in Lahore.
Nine points were allocated for the display of fireworks in Lahore. The Punjab Food Authority was granted permission to hold the display at Jilani Park.
The admin also granted permission for fireworks to US Consulate General Lahore, Bahria Town, Parkview City Housing Society, Central Park Housing Society, Nishat Hotel and Emporium Mall.
