Mohsin Naqvi inaugurates Jinnah Hospital’s emergency unit

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Sunday inaugurated the newly equipped emergency ward at Jinnah Hospital Lahore on the eve of New Year 2024, reported the24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the media persons at the hospital premises alongside Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries Dr. Gohar Ejaz, he said that the state-of-the-art emergency unit has been completed within a record time.
The CM said that the Board of Management of Jinnah Hospital, under the guidance of Dr. Gohar Ejaz completed the emergency unit on the last day of the year.
The expansive emergency wing, comprising 120 beds, is now operational and is expected to cater to the needs of more than 2000 visiting patients daily, he hinted, adding that Gohar Ejaz personally supervised the entire project.
He was all praises of Gohar Ejaz and said that Mr Gohar is running Punjab’s largest dialysis center.
“Jinnah Hospital is at the forefront in terms of treatment facilities.”
Mohsin continued that the cancer hospital in Manawan will be of international standard.
Further enhancing the province's healthcare infrastructure, he said that the renovation work of Children's Hospital Multan and Nishtar Hospital Multan has been completed. These facilities, along with others, including one in Dera Ghazi Khan, are slated to open in the coming days.
Chief Minister Naqvi expressed concerns about potential medicine shortages, urging caution and proactive measures to avoid running out of crucial medications during emergencies.
He addressed the challenges faced by medical stores near hospitals, calling for solutions to this complex issue.
During the media interaction, Gohar Ejaz acknowledged the dedication of the Jinnah Hospital team and shared insights into the renovation of the hospital's first emergency department.
Mian Ahsan discussed the hospital's transformation into a cancer facility, assuring that the board would oversee the necessary initiatives.
He said that this monumental achievement underscored the commitment of the Punjab government to elevate healthcare services, providing cutting-edge medical facilities to the residents of Lahore and beyond.
