The Supreme Court has ordered to formulate a uniform policy for the police promotion all across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The court summoned a report regarding a uniform police promotion policy in the Federal capital and all four provinces during the next hearing of the case.

A five-judge larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday heard the police promotion case. 

The CJP remarked that there should be a durable and solid uniform policy across the country for the promotion of policemen. 

A committee comprising police officers should consult the federal and provincial governments while formulating the policy, the court directed. 

Justice Maqbool Baqir remarked that with the uniform policy in vogue, the police officers would not find any problem when posted in different areas of the country. 

The court adjourned the hearing till third week of March.
