FSC CJ remarks forced marriage of child against Shariah

Seeks detailed report of the incident from Balochistan govt

Federal Shariat Court Acting Chief Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar has remarked that the forced marriage of a child is against Shariah, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

These remarks were expressed by the acting chief justice of FSC on Tuesday during the hearing of a petition against the forced marriage of a five-year-old girl in Khuzdar, Balochistan. 

The Balochistan additional advocate general appeared before the court. 

During the hearing, the acting chief justice remarked ‘this kind of incident is totally against our Shariah’.

The additional AG told the court that the two accused involved in the case had been arrested. He further said that the five-year-old girl was also recovered. 

He said that police were conducting raids to arrest the Nikah Khwan. 

The Shariat Court sought a detailed report of the incident from the provincial government.
