Inflation slips 1.16 in Sept: PBS

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation stood at 23.2 percent on a year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 27.3 percent in the previous month and nine percent in Sep 2021, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
On a month-on-month basis, it decreased by -1.2% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 2.4% in the previous month.
CPI inflation Urban, increased to 21.2% on a year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 26.2% in the previous month and 9.1% in Sep 2021. On a month-on-month basis, it decreased by -2.1% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 2.6% in the previous month and an increase of 2.0% in Sep 2021.
CPI inflation Rural, increased to 26.1% on a year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 28.8% in the previous month and 8.8% in Sep 2021. On a month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.2% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 2.2% in the previous month and an increase of 2.3% in Sep 2021.
SPI inflation on YoY increased to 28.6% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 34.0% a month earlier and an increase of 16.6% in Sep 2021. On MoM basis, it decreased by -1.4% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 5.2% a month earlier and an increase of 2.7% in Sep 2021.
WPI inflation on YoY basis increased to 38.9% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 41.2% a month earlier and an increase of 19.6% in Sep 2021. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 1.4% in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 3.1% a month earlier and an increase of 3.2% in corresponding month i.e. Sep 2021.
