LPG body wants quality check

LPG Distributors Association Pakistan Chairman Irfan Khokhar Saturday wrote a letter to the PM for action against distributers defying rules and regulations, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

LPG Distributors Association Pakistan said that sellers of substandard LPG and cylinders mafia are putting precious human lives at stake for their profits.

It was stated that an accident took place in Sukkur due to the use of poor quality LPG cylinders and CO2 mixed gas in which nine people died.

He said that the cylinder and LPG mafia have been ransacking people by selling CO2 mixed gas in poor quality cylinders since 2022. LPG was sold at prices than the ones OGRA fixed.

The substandard LPG being provided to 60% of the plants in the country has affected the industry, said Irfan Khokhar.

He demanded that the FBR be ordered to ensure availability of standard LPG. Import and domestic sale of LPG without laboratory test should be banned.

LPG association of Pakistan Chairman also wrote letters to Chief Secretary Sindh and IG Sindh.
