A court in Islamabad on Monday rejected the bail petitions filed by former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana-II reference, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjumand heard the petitions.
Speaking on the occasion, the prosecutor requested the court to indict the couple in the case on October 2.
He further said that the PTI founder had purchased a set worth Rs70 million, gifted by a Saudi dignitary, by paying only Rs2.9 million. “The NAB managed to know the actual price of the set in Saudi Arabia via Foreign Office,” he said, adding, “A necklace, earrings, bracelets and a ring were part of the set.”
The prosecutor went on to say that Imran, as a prime minister, set the market value of the precious set at Rs5.8 million. “And last, but not least, he, instead of depositing the gift in the Toshakhana first, kept it,” he claimed.
