France is launching an extraordinary operation to provide aid to flood-hit people in Pakistan, the French Embassy said on Thursday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the embassy statement added the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is implementing the operation based on the requirements provided by the Pakistani authorities.
On Friday, a special flight will arrive in Pakistan carrying 83 ultra-high-capacity motor pumps, tents for two hundred families, and hygiene supplies, the embassy said, adding that a team of medics from France will also visit the flood-affected areas.

The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs will provide financial assistance to French NGOs and Pakistan Red Crescent, the statement maintained, adding that these operations are being carried out under the framework of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
A couple of days ago, French President Emmanuel Macron showed solidarity with the flood victims of Pakistan, saying his country was ready to provide help.
The French president tweeted: “Our thoughts go out to the Pakistani people facing terrible floods, to the families of the countless people missing, and to the populations affected. France stands ready to provide help.”
