Inquiry began on Thursday into torture on women by police and some locals in an orphanage in Saudi Arabia after the country’s Public Prosecution took notice of video of the incident that went viral on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

However, as per initial reports it could not be ascertained as to what led to an attack on the orphanage, located in Asir Region of Saudi Arabia, by the locals.

The Prosecution Department, however, said torture on women was simply not acceptable.

Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission, too, formed a committee to probe the incident.

Similarly, Asir Region governor also took notice of it.
