The situation at the General Hospital could not improve despite the visits and warnings of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The skin ward of the General Hospital is facing a severe crisis as the patients are exposed to extreme heat and unsanitary conditions.
The air conditioning system of the ward has been turned off, leaving the patients to sweat and they have to use hand fans.
The fans installed in the ward are not enough to provide relief to the patients, who are suffering from various skin diseases.
The washroom of the ward is also in a deplorable state, with dirt and foul smell emanating from it. The patients fear that their skin problems will worsen due to the heat and the lack of hygiene.
The patients and their attendants have appealed to the authorities to restore the air conditioning and improve the cleanliness of the ward as soon as possible.
They have also demanded that the chief minister should take notice of the plight of the patients and hold the responsible officials accountable.
