Special Court Judge Abul Hasnat Thursday issued written verdicts regarding August 16 and August 30 hearings over the cypher case against PTI Chairman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
It was stated that the August 16 hearing in the cypher case against the PTI chief was held in the judicial complex where the FIA requested the court for his 14-day physical remand which was rejected as getting him out of Attock jail could pose threats to his life.
According to the verdict, the Law Ministry sent a notification to the court order to conduct the former PM's trial in Attock jail and the reason for not presenting him in the judicial complex for the hearings was to keep him safe. The cipher case is not a general case and sensitive cases like it involve the sovereignty of the state. The verdict ordered the jail superintendent to take him in his custody under a 14-day judicial remand.
It was also assured that Imran Khan’s appearance in the judicial complex for the hearings will be considered and none of his legal rights will be taken away over his absence. The court ordered the jail superintendent to ensure tight and fool-proof security protocols in case of transferring the former PM from Attock jail to the judicial complex.
In the 30 August verdict, it was stated that the court sent Imran Khan to Attock jail under a 14-day judicial remand and ordered the superintendent to present him to the Secret Act 1923 court within the jail premises.
In the cypher case, the Secret Act 1923 has given the court complete authority over the judicial and physical remands and the approval of bail.
