Pakistan ended up with 274 as Bangladesh managed to restrict the home side to a small total in the first innings of the second Test in Rawalpindi on Saturday. The first day was washed out due to rain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first. Pakistan’s opening pair, Abdullah Shafiq and Saim Ayub, stepped in to start the innings. However, Abdullah Shafique was dismissed early, bowled by Tasin Ahmad in the very first over.

After this early setback, Saim Ayub and captain Shan Masood formed a crucial 107-run partnership.

Shan Masood scored 57 runs but was trapped lbw by Mehdi Hasan Miraz. Shortly after, Saim Ayub also fell to Mehdi Hasan Miraz after making a solid 58 runs.

Among the other Pakistani batsmen, Saud Shakeel managed 18 runs, while Babar Azam contributed 31 runs.

Mohammad Rizwan added 29 runs, Khurram Shahzad 12, and Mohammad Ali 2 runs. Salman Agha made a significant contribution with 54 runs, and Abrar Ahmed added 9 runs at the end.

Bangladesh’s bowlers performed exceptionally well, with Mehdi Hasan Miraz taking 5 wickets in the innings. Tasin Ahmad picked up 3 wickets, while Naheed and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each.

Bangladesh currently leads the two-match series 1-0. The second Test match in Rawalpindi has four days scheduled, but the first day’s play was affected by rain.

The ongoing Pakistan vs Bangladesh Second Test is setting up to be a crucial battle as both teams look to gain the upper hand.
