36-ton cooking oil leaked as tanker collides with trawler in Khanpur

Local residents laid their hands on “free” cooking oil as a tanker carrying 36 tons edible oil collided with a trawler in Khanpur on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Teams of Motorway, Rescue 1122 and local police rushed to the scene to handle the situation.

The locals also reached the accident site and started collecting the cooking oil leaking from the tanker.

Later, rescue personnel surrounded the accident site and prevented the public from moving closer to the tanker.

The rescue personnel succeeded in plugged the leakage from the tanker.

A team of the Punjab police was also at hand for security and safety purposes.
