Inquiry report into leakage of Imran’s attacker video in final stage

The inquiry into the leakage of video statement given to the police by accused Naveed who opened fire on PTI Chief Imran Khan during his long march in Wazirabad last month has reached its final stage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The inquiry officer wrote down all the statements to give a final shape to the inquiry report. He jotted down statements of relevant regional police officer, district officer, superintendents of police, low rank officers, officials of CTD, special branch and concerned police station.
The report will be sent to the government on Monday.
Accused Naveed was caught red-handed when opened fire at a container carrying PTI Chief Imran Khan and other party leaders during long march on Nov 3 in Wazirabad. He was taken to a police station where he confessed to his crime. But his confessional video statement was leaked to media.
Taking notice of the leak, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi ordered Inspector General (IG) Punjab police to take disciplinary action against the irresponsible officials. The station house officer (SHO) and other officials of the concerned police station were suspended following the leak. .
The chief minister said in a statement that all mobile phones of the police station’s staffers were confiscated and they would be sent for a forensic audit.
