The Sindh School Education & Literacy Department on Friday issued a suspension order for 45 school teachers who do not perform their duties in different schools across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Interestingly, the suspended employees have allegedly been found associated with different electronic and print media as journalists.

The suspended staff including primary school teachers, drawing teachers, senior school teachers, junior school teachers, and high school teachers have been posted in the various districts’ schools of the Sindh province. These teachers were drawing salaries from the Sindh government, but not working.
However, the Sindh education department instead of stopping their salaries only issued a suspension order. Insiders said that the suspension] has only taken place in order to pacify the higher-ups.
It is not a punishment, because the journalists still get their full salary during the suspension period.
It is pertinent that the number of ghost schools stands at 7,000 in the province where around 25,000 to 30,000 teachers are employed. Among these are 700 local journalists. Five hundred are primary teachers and the rest are secondary school teachers and lecturers.
It has become a common practice for teachers to get jobs through political influence and then run private tuition centers or do other work instead of performing their duties, while bribing clerks to cover for them.
