Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that government has managed to bring back poor family from Saudi Arabia’s jail which was implicated in drug case after the government shared the facts with Saudi government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to media along with DG Anti Narcotics Force Abdul Moeed and victim family, Naqvi said that when this poor family was going to Saudi Arabia for Umra, 2kg ice was placed in their bag by drug dealers.

When the family reached Saudi Arabia and shifted to their temporary residence they were taken into custody by the Saudi Authorities as drug was found in their bag. When this case came in the notice of Director General Anti Narcotics Force and Lahore Air Port officials they probed the incident and arrested the nine members of the drug gang. Later Interior Ministry and ANF officials briefed Saudi officials about the case and the victim family was released and sent back to Pakistan. He said ANF have arrested 9 culprits of the gang which placed ice in the bag of the victim family.

On the occasion, Naqvi said the government was committed to control drug mafia. Interior Minister said the government was working to increase the strength of ANC as only three thousands force cannot curb drug mafia. Naqvi said that government was working to improve security system at the airports and its cargoes. He advised locals not to believe free Umra packages. On the occasion, victim family thanked for the special efforts of ANF, Interior Ministry and ASF.

Interior Minister said the government was trying improve security at airports. He said government and ANF was working in and around schools, colleges and universities to curb drug dealers.
