Goods worth millions of rupees was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a tea factory in Muzaffargarh on Sunday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Rescue officials succeeded in extinguishing the fire which started in factory’s godown after a hectic effort of three hours.

The blaze started in the godown due to short-circuit but it soon engulfed the whole factory, located in Chowk Sarsar Shaheed. The fire was intense and the smoke clouds were so thick that the authorities got vacated the adjacent buildings.

Goods worth millions was reduced to ashes after chemical-filled drums started exploding inside the godown. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.

The fire-brigade staff reached the site two hours after receiving the information. The factory workers until then tried to contain the blaze on self-help basis.

The rescue personnel feared the factory building might collapse after the horrible fire incident.
