May 2, 2022 12:20 PM

Poverty plays havoc with all the fun on Eid festivities when empty pockets do not let parents to buy little gifts for their offspring. One such case was reported on Monday in Narowal where a poor mother of five children attempted self-immolation by setting herself on fire after sprinkling petrol, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, a couple having five children had an argument over Eid shopping for their kids. The mother wanted to buy new clothes for them but her husband who was a watchman could not afford it.

The disheartened woman doused herself with petrol and tried to immolate herself. In this awful attempt, her 80% body was burnt.

The poor lady was referred to a Lahore hospital in critical condition.
