CM Maryam reviews plan to outsource Solid Waste Management System in Punjab
Warns departments presence of waste on roadsides won’t be tolerated

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting on solid waste management and reviewed a plan to outsource the Solid Waste Management System in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Punjab CM approved the system of digital monitoring of the Solid Waste Management System during a meeting she chaired in Lahore on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Maryam Nawaz warned the concerned authorities that presence of solid waste on the roadsides will not be tolerated, adding that all the concerned department must follow govt orders regarding cleanliness in the province.
The CM was told that 23 landfill sites and 66 transfer stations will be built at all the divisional headquarters in the province.
CM Maryam Nawaz directed Provincial Minister Zeeshan Rafique to monitor the outsourcing process of the solid waste management besides reviewing the performance of Wasa companies which were taking subsidies and financial share from the waste management companies.
Punjab senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Parvez Rasheed, Provincial Information Minister Bukhari, MPA Sania Ashiq, concerned Secretaries, Lahore Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Waste Management Company attended the meeting.
