Head of Asia-Pak Investment Shahryar Chishti has announced to give cheap electricity to the citizens of Karachi, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Wednesday.
According to the details, Shahryar Chishti said in his statement that the control of K Electric will come to Asia-Pak soon and two and a half to three billion rupees will be invested in the next five years to get cheap electricity for Karachi.
He said there will be investment in coal, wind and solar.
Shahryar Chishti said that first the imported coal power plant in Jamshoro will be transferred to Thar coal, the 660 MW Jamshoro plant is ready, which will be transferred to Thar coal and will be able to get electricity in the next six months. The project will cost $ 50 million. He said one more local coal plant of 660 MW will be installed in Jamshoro itself.
He said 3000 megawatts of cheap electricity will be obtained from wind and solar in the next five years, and two and a half billion dollars will be invested in this project and this investment will be done with the support of the UAE.
