PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz were shifted back to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore after their six-day parole ended on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During their release on parole, dozens of political leaders had met them at their Model Town residence at condoled the death of Begum Shamim Akhtar.

PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif also telephoned Shehbaz before the end of parole and patted him on the back.

The original parole order was due to expire on December 2 but the Punjab government had granted one-day extension after PML-N moved an application requesting for it.

On the last of the parole on Thursday, dozens of leaders held meetings with Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza. PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz also held a meeting with her uncle and cousin.

The PML-N leadership was also present in the Model Town.

As a first contact in 20 years, Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi also met Shehbaz Sharif and condoled the death of his mother. Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq and former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani along with his sons also met the PML-N president.

Shehbaz Sharif was released on parole on December 27 and was shifted back to prison after spending six days on parole.
