Punjab schools timings revised amid decline in smog conditions

Following the significant improvement in the air quality, the Punjab Environment Protection Department has announced new school opening times across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Department of Environment has issued a notification revising school timings following an improvement in the smog situation. 

According to the notification, all public and private schools will now open at 8:15 am instead of 8:45 am. This directive will be effective from 4th December 2024.  

Previously, school timings were adjusted to 8:45 am due to worsening smog conditions of the province. 

However, with the weather clearing and smog levels significantly improving, the Director General of the Environment Department Punjab has decided to roll back the timings to their earlier schedule.

The notification emphasizes strict adherence to the revised timings, warning that any violation will result in stringent action.
