Polls on PP-266 postponed after candidate’s death

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to postpone the general elections in the PP-266 constituency in Rahim Yar Khan district
following the untimely death of a candidate Chaudhry Israr Gondal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
Israr Gondal was contesting the upcoming elections from the ticket of Tehreek Jawanan Pakistan and died after suffering a heart attack.
He was rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sadiqabad after a chest pain complaint. From where, he was shifted to Shaikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan due to his critical condition.
The doctors at Shaikh Zayed Hospital tried their level best to recover him but to no avail. His funeral prayer was offered at Chak 158-P on Friday.
Consequently, Sadiqabad returning officer Abdul Majid Khan issued a notification pertaining to the postponement of the PP-266 elections.
The schedule will be reissued for the election in the constituency.
