The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has changed its plans to suspend gas supply to power generation and industrial units in Sindh, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a new notification, gas supply to all industries including their power generation units will now be closed from Feb 4 (Sunday) at 8 am to Feb 6 (Tuesday) till 8.00 am instead of Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier, it was decided that the gas supply to industries and captive power in Sindh was to be shut down for 48 hours from Saturday, February 3 to Monday, February 5.
Gas supply will be continued to all industries and captive power in Sindh on Saturday.
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has planned two to three days industrial closure in Sindh in a week depending upon the line pack conditions and the acceptance of RLNG-local gas blend by industrial consumers.
Suspension of gas supply to industrial units in Sindh in the winter was expected considering the short indigenous gas supplies and increase in demand of the domestic sector particularly in Quetta due to extreme cold weather.
Currently, one to two days industrial closures are implemented with the 25:75 RLNG and indigenous gas blend to captive power of industries.
