Newly-wed girl rescued, one abductor nabbed

The Attock Police on Tuesday thwarted abducted of a newly-wed girl and arrested one of the abductors after a shootout in Hattian area.
According to police, the girl had come to see her parents in village Boota along with her husband Mohammad Idrees. When she was going back, four persons identified as: Inayat Ullah, Dilawar, Shahzad and Khawar intercepted the couple on new Hattain Road.
They abducted the girl and shot and injured her husband when he put up resistance. On information, the police chased the culprits but came across firing by the accused. The police retaliated and managed to intercept the abductors vehicle.
The police recovered the girl safely while arrested one of the accused identified as Dilawar. Police sources said that different hideouts are being raided to arrest the remaining three accused after registration of a case against them.
Sources said that the girl had actually to be married off to Shahzad but due to some issues, the marriage could not occur and the girl was married off to someone else. Upon which Shahzad nursed a grudge and attempted to abduct the girl in revenge but failed.
