Lower court judges have expressed concerns against Islamabad High Court monitoring judge for promoting the culture of nepotism and favouritism in the judiciary, reported 24News HD TV channel.

District court judges in a letter to Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq demanded justice against Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani’s bullying attitude, who is the monitoring judge of the lower court.

The lower court judges’ letter was dispatched to the Registrar of Islamabad High Court on April 29, 2024.

The judges of the lower courts in Islamabad claimed that monitoring the judge was aimed at destroying the career of the bright and honest judges for not following his illegal directives besides not becoming part of his like-minded judges’ group.

They alleged that Justice Mohsin Kiyani was spoiling the career of several competent judges for not following his directives. The lower judiciary claimed that Justice Kiyani was running lower courts with remote control. The judges accused that if any judge refused to act on his advice, Justice Kiyani started targeting him and made him the worst example.

According to the letter, judges said that due to the discouraging attitude of the monitoring judge, they feel low as well as degraded and fail to perform duties as per rules and regulations.

Moreover, to promote his favourite junior judges, Justice Kiyani used to write negative remarks on the service books of the senior and competent judges.

The lower court judges further claimed that Justice Kiyani’s actions were against the violation of the High Court Act 2010, section 63 and Islamabad Judicial Service Rules.

The letter further said that Justice Kiyani was making these violations to retain two of his favourite judges in Islamabad Judicial Service.

Moreover, in the letter, judges have also highlighted the names of Justice Kiyani’s favourite lawyers and his like-minded judges also.
