Charged workers of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) snatched 31 guns, 4000 tear gas shells, wireless sets and 220 anti-riot kits from police during their recent long march.

The 24News HD TV channel revealed in a report on Wednesday that the TLP workers snatched the weapons, ammunition and security equipment due to the poor strategy of the police authorities.

According to the report, the long march participants severely damaged at least 48 police vehicles. The police sources said the TLP protesters snatched 16 police rifles and 15 tear gas guns.

The report said that the poor strategy of police officers to stop a banned religious party’s long march from Lahore to Wazirabad exposed the ability of their deal with the security issues.

Anyhow, the report confirmed that during the long march six policemen were martyred and 520 injured.

The report said that the police authorities had decided to hold negotiations with the bigwigs of the banned TLP to get back the snatched official weapons, ammunition and security equipment.

The report further stated that the police authorities had also issued directives to the policemen for verifying their weapons, ammunition and other official belongings.
