Beleaguered Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Alyani has spurred up his efforts to save his seat but his struggles are not bearing fruit yet, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Chief Minister Alyani who is facing no-confidence in the Balochistan Assembly decided to meet estranged leaders personally. He reached Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran’s house without informing him on Sunday in order to woo him. But the CM failed to coax him. He bluntly told Mr Alyani that he could no longer support him.

Sources revealed that the CM also visited the house of Bushra Rind but she, too, declined to back the besieged chief minister.

Chief Minister Alyani Saturday clarified that he had not resigned from his post.

According to the 24News HD TV Channel, he tweeted the one-line message and said: “I have not resigned from Chief Ministership.”

Jam Kamal who was also the president of the party had already resigned from the party leadership and also said in a separate tweet that the seat, position and status had never been the criteria for him and he would continue his political services as a party member in the BAP in future.

Balochistan CM also acknowledged in another tweet that he knew well about some people who were not comfortable and easy with him but he would continue his policies for the development of the province.

On the other hand, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Core Committee endorsed the resignation of Balochistan CM Jam Kamal Khan from the party’s presidentship and decided to call the executive committee meeting to announce new intra-party elections on the vacant seat.

On Saturday, the divisional organisers of the CM’s mother party—the BAP authorized the Core Committee to take a final decision about the fate of Jam Kamal.

The BAP core committee was comprised of Jan Muhammad Jamali, Tariq Magsi, Naseeb Ullah Bazai, Saeed Hashmi and Saleh Bhootani.

Meanwhile on Saturday, opposition in the Balochistan Assembly started considering to field Aslam Raisani for the slot of Chief Ministership if Jam Kamal resigns.

The opposition parties have started consultations to get the advantage of the current situation and rifts appeared in the ruling alliance on the issue of replacement of the CM.

On the other hand, seeing the situation, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani was mobilized once again. He left Karachi for Quetta on Sunday afternoon on a three-day visit.

During his stay in Quetta, Sanjrani will call on Balochistan CM Jam Kamal and the angry ruling party speaker, provincial ministers and MPAs separately.
