Commenting on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report, Hamza Shehbaz, son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Punjab chief minister, said on Saturday that the report was a charge-sheet against the former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement, he said that the last government of PTI, which had struck a deal with the IMF, later violated the commitments made under that deal in the name of providing relief to the people. “But people of the country ultimately had to pay its price,” he said, and claimed that now courtesy coalition government’s economic revival programme, the economy was now back on track.
Hamza said even today, Imran and his party were in no mood to spare Pakistan and its people. “It is a pity that at a time when almost the entire country is in the grip of floods, the PTI chairman is doing politics as he is busy holding public gatherings every other day,” he said, and added, “What could be more unfortunate than this that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, instead of inspecting relief and rescue work in the flood-affected areas, is busy overseeing arrangements for the PTI rallies.”
He was of the view that the list of Imran’s crimes also included his outburst against the state institutions.
