PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said the Sindh government had decided that no organisation could lay off the workers and they would get their full salaries during the coronavirus crisis.
Bilawal described unity as need of the hour and said the provinces were looking towards the Centre, with a hope that the Federation will meet the needs of everyone while treating them equally.
The Centre would have to assist every province and provide the testing kits, he added, while also stressing the need to provide PPE [personal protection equipment] to the doctors and ventilators for the infected people.
In a video message released on the death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, he said the PPP-led provincial government was trying its best to minimise the problems being faced by the people.
Bilawal said hundreds of thousands of people reach Garhi Khuda Bux for paying homage to Bhutto, but he was alone there for prayers Saturday because of the coronavirus pandemic affecting the entire world.
In these circumstances, he added, the governments around the globe were making tough decisions.
Praising those helping others, the PPP chairman said the Sindh government was making efforts to supply ration to the deserving people. But, he added that they could not achieve the goal alone and required help for purpose, as he appealed for help.
