Following the fake license scandal involving Pakistani pilots, now one of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees has been found to have a 'bogus' intermediate degree, leading to the issuance of a show-cause notice to him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

In the notice issued on July 30, 2024, PIA Deputy Station Manager Birmingham Javed Iqbal Bajwa was told that when his degrees were sent to the concerned educational boards for verification, it was revealed that his intermediate degree was fake. “This goes against the concerned sections of the airline’s Employees Disciplinary Policy, 2019. If you do not reply within seven days, action will be taken against you under the PIA’s rules and regulations,” Bajwa was informed.

On the other hand, sources have told 24News that Bajwa, who has been an employee of the national flag carrier for the last several decades, managed to get the status of a local, regular employee after he moved to the UK.

Spokesman for the PIA Abdullah Khan has said that the airline’s management will wait for Bajwa’s reply for seven days, and in the event of his failure to present proof of the genuineness of his degree, he will be sacked.
