CTO deploys cops at bus station to stop overcharging ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muntazir Mehdi have ordered to launch massive crackdown against the transporters who are looting and overcharging the people going back to their native villages as mass exodus begins ahead of Eid-Ul-Azha, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Traffic police personnel are deployed at the Lorry Adda, Badamibagh, Babu Sabu, Niazi Chowk, Thokar Niaz Beg, Shahdara Chowk, Begum Kot Chowk, Gajjumatta, and other key bus stations.

The traffic police have also issued orders to transportation companies to display fare information prominently on their vehicles. 

CTO said that those who charge high rates to commuters deserve no concessions and directed all circle officers to speak with transporter owners in their respective zones. 

Mehdi announced the impoundment of vehicles found overcharging or overloading.
