Punjab Ombudsman buys 12 mobile phones worth Rs7.6m for officers

The Punjab Provincial Ombudsman purchased 12 mobile phones worth Rs7.6 million for his officers to address public complaints.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Punjab Provincial Ombudsman Major (Retired) Azam Suleman Khan has confirmed the purchase of heavy-duty mobile phones for officers.
The provincial ombudsman of Punjab said the phones, which include Apple and Samsung models, were bought to address complaints from overseas.
On June 10, the Punjab Ombudsman held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and discussed the matters related to administration, good governance, public grievances and their redress mechanism in the province.
The CM was briefed by the provincial ombudsman about various steps taken by his department to resolve public complaints and disputes, and presented her an annual report in this regard.
The CM also reviewed different recommendations for the improvement of services in the province.
The Ombudsman (Mohtasib) Punjab has the mandate to protect the rights of the people, ensuring adherence to the rule of law, diagnosing, redressing and rectifying any injustice done to a person through maladministration and suppressing corrupt practices.
