The Islamabad city administration has been dillydallying on granting permission to the Pakistan Peoples Party’s long marchers to hold a rally in the federal capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources informed 24NewsHD on Friday that the PPP’s long march organizers decided to change their march plan and now they wanted to hold a public rally on D-Chowk on March 8. In this connection, they wrote a letter to the Islamabad chief commissioner seeking his permission.
Earlier, the administration was agreed that the PPP could hold a rally at Faizabad but now the party leaders have changed their mind.
The letter requests the Islamabad chief commissioner that the PPP Awami March will reach Islamabad on Mach 8 and the party wants to change the venue of its rally from Faizabad to D-Chowk. The PPP seeks city administration’s approval for the change of the route.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the rally participants. Besides him, the PPP central and provincial leadership will also address the gathering.
The letter further asks the commissioner to make arrangements for marchers’ security and chalk out other traffic measures.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PPP earlier had sought a three-day permission for holding the PPP rally. But it was allowed to hold rally only for one day at Faizabad.
Now, the administration is reluctant to entertain PPP’s new request to move the rally venue from Faizabad to D Chowk.
