Both Special Assistant to CM Punjab Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafiq have stuck to their guns, refusing to budge from their position, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Both Dr Firdous and Chief Secretary Rafiq called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday and explained their respective positions on the matter of Dr Firdous’ harsh behaviour towards assistant commissioner Sialkot Sonia Sadaf.
The chief secretary in his meeting with the Punjab CM expressed his displeasure over the attitude of Dr Firdous saying it was very disrespectful to use foul language against a government official in public. He said AC Sadaf and other administrative staff were working day and night in hot weather.
“Using abusive language against any government officer or staff is immoral and I vehemently oppose it,” said the chief secretary.
He said assistant commissioners were appointed with the consultation of the chief minister himself.
He told the chief minister that he must have heard the language which Dr Firdous had used against AC Sadaf.
Explaining her position to the CM, Dr Firdous said people did not put questions to officers, they put questions to them. She alleged that AC Sadaf did not come out of her room to check the quality of commodities. She said “We respect all officers but those who do not work, it is our duty to pinpoint them.”
But Chief Secretary Rafiq insisted that Dr Firdous apologize to AC Sadaf.
After hearing both Dr Firdous and Mr Rafiq’s point of views, the chief minister said he would decide the case on merit.
