The deadlock between Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal and estranged members of his coalition persists as all efforts of the committee formed to bring about reconciliation between the two have failed to produce results, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Although CM Kamal has met with six ‘estranged’ members of his government in recent days to win their support, the latter are still adamant that he gives his resignation.
They are of the view that they will not decide on their own but will go by the decision taken by the entire group of ‘dissidents’.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, on the other hand, plans to visit Quetta again today to bring about rapprochement between the chief minister and dissidents.
He had visited the provincial capital yesterday (Sunday) too, and held a meeting with Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bezanjo.
The Senate chairman then left for Islamabad in the evening.
On the other hand, the opposition’s plan to table no-confidence motion against CM Kamal in the Balochistan Assembly is presently restricted to merely statements due to what is described as a ‘technical’ fault in the resolution drafted for the purpose.
The Senate chairman and other members of the coalition will resume their efforts today to bridge differences between the chief minister and the group of dissidents.
